Behind the Race

This project was made possible through my friend Armier and his accreditation at the International GT Open at the Red Bull Ring in Austria — a rare opportunity that gave me access to a world usually hidden from view. As with previous motorsport work, I approached this environment through the lens of street and documentary photography.

Rather than focusing on the race itself, my attention was drawn to everything happening around it. I photographed drivers in moments of concentration, mechanics working under pressure, team leaders coordinating behind the scenes, and pit-lane crews moving through tightly timed routines.

For me, Motorsport is about the human side of racing. It’s about tension, focus, exhaustion, and teamwork — moments that exist beyond the track and away from the spotlight. By stepping away from the main action, this work aims to show a different perspective on motorsport: one built on people, atmosphere, and the quiet moments between the noise.
