In Quiet Distance

This project documents a safari journey through Tanzania, moving through three very different landscapes and national parks. Rather than focusing on spectacle, the work is about observing wildlife and environment as they exist in their natural rhythm.

The journey began in Arusha National Park, where encounters with monkeys and giraffes set the tone - quiet moments, slow movement, and first impressions of the landscape. The second stop was Tarangire National Park, known for its vast spaces and large elephant herds. Here, I photographed elephants, giraffes, zebras, baboons, and a lioness, capturing moments shaped by distance, patience, and stillness.

The final part of the safari took place in the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Within this unique natural space, lions, zebras, hyenas, and hippos move side by side, creating a powerful contrast between calm observation and raw presence.

This project is not about hunting the perfect image, but about being present and attentive. It reflects a documentary approach to nature photography - focusing on moments, atmosphere, and the quiet connection between animals, landscape, and time.
